He will also work to advance democracy, rule of law, good governance, and human rights, aligning with the EU’s broader strategic objectives in the region. In fulfilling his mandate, Eduards Stiprais will operate in close coordination with the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. He will also work with key international organizations, including the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and the United Nations (UN), to enhance diplomatic efforts and ensure regional stability.

The appointment underscores the EU’s commitment to reinforcing its presence in Central Asia, a region of increasing geopolitical importance. The EU has long maintained a focus on fostering stability and economic growth through trade agreements, development projects, and energy cooperation, seeking to balance strategic interests with regional dynamics.
