Kuwait and Saudi Arabia reach agreement on joint offshore gas development

The energy ministers from Kuwait and Saudi Arabia finalized a development plan for their joint offshore gas field, Dorra, which is capable of producing 84,000 barrels of gas condensate per day and one billion cubic feet of natural gas per day. The development plan, signed by Dr. Mohammad Al-Fares and his Saudi counterpart Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, envisions using cutting-edge and environmentally friendly techniques to ramp up gas output from the vital project.

Kuwait and Saudi Arabia reach agreement on joint offshore gas developmentThe project is a joint venture between Gulf Oil Company of Kuwait and Aramco Gulf Operations Company of Saudi Arabia. As per the agreement, gas output will be distributed equally among the neighboring Arab countries of the Gulf at a time when soaring consumption has brought about a rise in energy demands for the two countries. Dorra is situated in the Kuwait-Saudi Neutral Zone, where the production is split equally between the two countries.
