World Defense Show 2022: EDGE debuts a protected Rabdan ambulance

On the first day of the World Defense Show that was held in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, EDGE Group company AL JASOOR, the UAE’s armored vehicle specialist, unveiled the new Rabdan ambulance, a variant of the 8×8 infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) Rabdan. Military medics on ambulatory missions in high-risk environments will be provided with off-road mobility and mine-resistant, ambush-protected (MRAP)-level protection in the new configuration.

World Defense Show 2022: EDGE debuts a protected Rabdan ambulance“The Rabdan ambulance vehicle combines best-in-class off-road capability with life-saving crew protection technology for urgent medical care in terrains too harsh for regular ambulances. Additionally, its innovative design protects passengers on operations in high-risk environments,” said Dr. Jasem Al Zaabi, Acting CEO of AL JASOOR. This ambulance variant shares high commonality with the Rabdan 8×8 platform, lowering cost for our clients and meeting modern warfare requirements as well as optimizing value for all operational requirements.”

Rabdan 8×8 ambulances are equipped to provide rapid evacuation capabilities while shielding patients and medics from enemy fire, improvised explosive devices, and other battlefield threats. This vehicle has impressive power and a military-grade driveline, which means it can keep up with forward formations even in the harshest terrain.

With an elevated roof and a large volume configured with extensive medical equipment, the Rabdan ambulance provides both crew and patients with protection against the deadliest threats. Up to nine individuals, including medics and patients, can be accommodated in the vehicle, which has plenty of room for maneuvering.
